New Sainsburys Store for Stockport

Morbaine is working with Sainsburys to secure a relocation of their existing outdated store to a new purpose built store on the junction of Knightsbridge and Gt Portwood Street.

The new store will be 68,000 sq.ft. and offer an improved range of food and non-food products with approximately 700 new car parking spaces.

The Knightsbridge site comprises a number of outmoded and underused buildings and plots. Stockport Council earmarked the site for regeneration some years ago and have now appointed Sainsburys as their partner.

A planning application was submitted in July 2011. CLICK HERE to view the application details on the Council's website. A decision is expected by Spring 2012.
