Morbaine have completed the development of a new B&Q Warehouse store adjacent to the Ringway ring road and situated on Green Street.

The 11 acre site was previously the factory premises of two carpet manufacturers who had need to consolidate their operations and have since moved to other new manufacturing bases in the area.

Wyre Forest District Council granted outline planning permission in June 1999 for DIY use and subsequently B&Q plc agreed to take a 25 year lease for a Warehouse format store with an internal area of 103,500 sq.ft and external areas of 50,000 sq.ft.

B&Q were not represented in Kidderminster and this site has introduced their large format to the area and partners their recently opened store at Halesowen.

The building contract was tendered in late 2000 and Watkin Jones & Sons Limited were awarded the contract for a site start on 29th January 2001, which lead to B&Q opening on 14th December 2001 with sales results since then being in excess of B&Q's expectations.
