The Scheme was carefully designed in consultation with the Local Authority and CADW to respect the adjacent Grade II* listed former Engine House and Ancient Monument.

New industrial units were built at Heol ty Gwyn to replace those demolished as part of the scheme. The industrial tenants were relocated.

An archaeological investigation of the former iron works that once occupied the site was undertaken and full archaeological monitoring was carried out throughout the development.
